men are the creation of God by the Word’.113 Since everything owes its existence to him, he can be the privileged agent of revelation, leading to either salvation or judgement.114 The involvement of ὁ λόγος in the divine activity of creation authorizes his participation in other divine activities described in the prologue: (1) granting the authority to become God’s children (1:12),115 (2) manifesting God’s glory (1:14), (3) manifesting grace and truth (1:17), and (4) revealing God (1:18). These
